THE MAJESTY AND GLORY
God isn't just a name recognition... He is respected by His name. David composed the following words of praise after his victory for God's glory over Goliath, the Philistine massive Goliath. The Lord's name was awe-inspiring in Israel at the time of the same day but what happens the present? Does God's name have a great impact across the entire earth? Half a billion Buddhists will say no. A quarter ofa billion Hindus would not agree. Millions of atheists, agnostics and atheists would not agree. There are many who will say "OLord, our Lord, how majestic is Thy name in all the earth." And there will be a day when all knees will bow and every mouth declare to the world that Christt has been declared Lord to God's utmost glory!
"How could God's name be majestic today," somemight wonder, "if there are no more giants to kill?" Are you able to imagine God to glorify God inthe present and in the lives of everyday people like you and me? It's possible! Our normal-ness is the natural way to glory. "When we are weak,", the apostle Paul stated, "He is strong."
This has been the way God has chosen to go throughout theages. Moses -- the baby in the bullrushes -- eventually overthrew Pharaoh and his kingdom. God himself became a child and wasborn in Bethlehem as well and then turned the entire world "right side up" with His appearance. It's almost like the limits of His people are the perfect backdrop to show His glory. Have you ever purchased a diamond? If so, the jeweler likely showed the diamond before you in a piece dark velvet. The dull, dark velvet accentuates the diamond's features exquisitely. Does God's glory and majesty shine through our darkest times? Yes, it can... and does... and will.
